FM: Russia ready to send observers to Belarus for referendum on Constitution

MOSCOW, 30 December (BelTA) – Russia is ready to send observers to Belarus for a referendum on the amendments to the Constitution if invited, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova told a briefing in Moscow on 30 December, BelTA has learned.

"The referendum is an exclusively internal affair of Belarus," Maria Zakharova said. “If we receive an invitation, we will send our observers. But, I emphasize once again, the Belarusian side should invite us if it deems it necessary."
