FM: Belarus is ready to act upon all of Iran’s proposals

MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to act upon all proposals and initiatives put forward by Iran, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov said as he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, BelTA has learned.

“We have many matters to jointly examine and decide upon. Moreover, I sincerely hope you will be able to find time to see our capital city,” Maxim Ryzhenkov told Abbas Araghchi. “You can be assured that [your] every proposal and initiative will be fulfilled.”

The Belarusian foreign minister assured his Iranian counterpart that Belarus will do everything possible to ensure his official visit leaves the most favorable impression and is as productive as can be.

“It is great to see progress across all areas of our cooperation. This progress is defined by concrete actions and tangible results,” emphasized Maxim Ryzhenkov. He noted that the current bilateral meeting could lead to even more significant achievements in the relations between Minsk and Tehran.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The president remarked that such visits traditionally serve to take stock of results and to chart joint plans for the future, both for the near and long term. In this regard, the Iranian foreign minister’s visit to Belarus is no exception. The two countries are already implementing a comprehensive cooperation roadmap for 2023-2026, and it is essential to jointly plan the next stages in the development of their relations.
