FIFA president invites Belarus to discuss football development

MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian delegation has attended the 76th FIFA Congress in Vancouver, Canada, BelTA has learned.

Chairman of the Belarusian Football Federation Yauheni Buloichyk thanked FIFA President Gianni Infantino for his support and expressed hope that top-level football will return to Belarus through joint efforts. The FIFA president wished his Belarusian counterparts success and suggested discussing the development of the game in the country during a bilateral meeting at the next international forum.

Canada hosted a FIFA Congress for the first time since 1976. The congress brought together 1,600 participants from 210 national associations. During the forum, key areas for the development of world football and organizational issues for the next reporting period were considered. The parties also discussed the organization of the final stage of the 23rd FIFA World Cup, which will take place at football venues in Canada, Mexico and the United States from 11 June to 19 July.

The participation of Belarusian representatives in the congress once again underscores the commitment to international cooperation and the integration of Belarusian football into global development of the beautiful game.
