MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – The expansion of the political dialogue between the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates at a high level was discussed in Abu Dhabi on 15 April, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA after the first round of political consultations with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. The Emirati delegation was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister (Undersecretary) Ahmed Al Jarman.

According to the source, the sides discussed a large number of matters concerning the development of the bilateral relations, including the expansion of the political dialogue at a high level, ways to increase the trade turnover, and preparations for the third session of the joint committee on cooperation between the governments of Belarus and the UAE.

The consultations also touched upon the exchange of visits of representatives of the business circles, the improvement of the legal base, cooperation in science, education, healthcare, and culture, interaction in the international scene, and regional problems.

At the end of the consultations the heads of the delegations noted the affinity or concurrence of the views on the matters that had been discussed.
