European forensic experts interested in cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) - European forensic experts are interested in cooperation with Belarus, Jan De Kinder, ENFSI President, Director General of the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology of Belgium, said at the international conference in Minsk on 4 February, BelTA has learned.

“We are very glad to be invited to Belarus and are ready to provide assistance to you. Moreover, I believe it will be very important for us to cooperate with Belarus and expect that in the future we will work even closer,” Jan De Kinder said.

Chairman of State Forensics Committee of Belarus Andrei Shved, in turn, noted that the specialists of the Belarusian agency always study the progressive experience of foreign colleagues in forensic investigation, systematization of existing examination methods and designing of new ones. “Taking into account all the capabilities and peculiarities of the national legislation, the most efficient methods and tools are used in the work of Belarusian exerts. The cooperation with international organizations helps develop the forensic science in Belarus,” the head of the agency stressed.

On 4-5 February, Minsk brought together the representatives of the largest forensics organization in Europe ENFSI uniting 64 expert institutions from 36 European countries. Upon the initiative of the ENFSI senior executives, the meeting has been moved from London to Minsk.

Apart from the session of the permanent committee of the organization, the representatives of the leading expert institutions of the European Union will hold a seminar with the specialists of the State Forensics Committee of Belarus.
