Eurasian integration strategy expected to be signed in Minsk this autumn

Eurasian integration strategy expected to be signed in Minsk this autumn

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - The strategy for the development of Eurasian integration until 2025 is expected to be signed in Minsk in the autumn, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Minsk on 17 July, BelTA has learned.

“The draft strategy for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 have been prepared and generally approved. It lays down the mechanisms to develop common markets in the union, formulates approaches to the development of new areas in joint innovation and investment activities. The document is expected to be signed by the heads of state during the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council due in Minsk in the autumn,” Roman Golovchenko noted.

In his opinion, every effort should be made to fine-tune the draft strategy. “The heads of government will probably need to discuss this draft again before the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council,” the prime minister believes.

Barriers and exceptions remain in the spotlight of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council too. “The EAEU bodies consider the issues relating to the removal of barriers in the domestic market as a matter of priority. Some progress in solving this pressing problem has been made,” Roman Golovchenko said.
