MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) - The EU hopes to complete the ratification of the agreements on facilitating visa procedures and readmitting the individuals staying without an authorization with Belarus soon,  Head of the European Union's Delegation to Belarus Dirk Schuebel told the media, BelTA has learned.

Dirk Schuebel told the media how the process of ratification is going in the European Parliament. One of the committees has already completed its work, and several more are still working on the documents. “We hope that soon we will finish the ratification process," the head of the EU Delegation said, adding that the documents should undergo a similar procedure in the Belarusian parliament.

“I hope that soon we will have these agreements ratified," Dirk Schuebel said. According to him, they will generate a very positive effect. The cost of Schengen visas for Belarusians will be reduced to €35. It will be much easier to apply for a multiple visa. Some categories of citizens will be able to receive Schengen visas for free. The EU Delegation welcomes Poland's decision to introduce a zero tariff for visas for Belarusian children and young people under 25 who take part in seminars, conferences, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations. “We welcome such steps,” Dirk Schuebel noted.

He is also optimistic about the Belarus-EU partnership priorities agreement. “We are almost ready. We need to address a few more issues," he said. According to Dirk Schuebel, the agreement is 95% ready. “We will successfully conclude the negotiations soon and will sign it very quickly,” the head of the EU Delegation believes.
