President Rafael Correa Delgado is scheduled to meet with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on 31 October. It is also expected that the President of Ecuador will visit a number of enterprises and facilities in the Belarusian capital.

In June 2012, the Belarusian head of state traveled to Ecuador which was the first visit in the history of bilateral relations.

The structure of the Ecuadorian economy is largely similar to the Venezuelan one, which indicates high potential for advancement of Belarusian machinery and fertilizers to the Ecuadorian market. Other areas of cooperation may include the services in exploration and extraction of oil and other mineral resources, transfer of technology, personnel training, construction and upgrade of transport vehicles, energy and other infrastructure.

Cooperation between the two countries in the field of university education, science and technology might be promising too.
