MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) - President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti is planning to visit Belarus on 12-14 September. Preparation of the visit was discussed during a meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and head of the EBRD representative office in Belarus Alexander Pivovarsky, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the financial sector, in transport, environment, renewable energy, privatization and state property management and reviewed the preparation of the visit of EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti to Belarus on 12-14 September,” the press service said.

During the conversation, Vladimir Makei and Alexander Pivovarsky welcomed the positive dynamics of the cooperation between Belarus with the EBRD.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is the largest institutional investor in the Belarusian economy. Since the start of its operations in Belarus, the EBRD has invested almost €2 billion in various sectors of the country's economy.
