MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union have drawn up a draft industrialization map, with project proposals at almost $200 billion, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich told reporters after the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Minsk on 17 July, BelTA has learned.
“The map of industrialization is a very important document as it implies the development of new projects in the industry. Today we have already proposals for such projects totaling almost $200 billion,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The EAEU countries have agreed on a program in space. “A grouping of five satellites for remote sensing of the Earth will be formed to exchange information in the EAEU,” Mikhail Myasnikovich informed.
Another program deals with the agricultural industry to ensure the food security of the EAEU countries.
As for barriers and obstacles in the EAEU, Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that 9 out of 15 barriers have been removed this year alone. “It is true that some new ones were put in place too. Yet, there is a fundamental understanding that the obstacles that are created in the domestic market need to be removed promptly,” he added.
