Diplomat: Belarus views cooperation with Indonesia among its foreign policy priorities

MOSCOW, 26 May (BelTA) - The Belarusian-Indonesian business forum organized by the National Centre for Marketing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus was hosted by the Business and Cultural Complex at the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow on 26 May, BelTA has learned.
"Belarus considers cooperation with Indonesia among the priorities of its foreign policy," Pavel Legky, Minister Counsellor at the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, said as he opened the event. “Relations between the two friendly countries, despite their considerable geographical distance, are growing stronger. Belarusian-Indonesian cooperation is built on constructive partnership, trust and pragmatism and the desire for a just multipolar world based on the principles of international law and respect for the sovereign equality of states."
He recalled that on June 18, Belarus and Indonesia will celebrate a significant date - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. "During this period, which is short by historical standards, Belarusian-Indonesian cooperation has grown significantly. The two countries have established strong business ties and relations at all levels," the diplomat stated. "I am sure that the year of the anniversary of diplomatic relations will mark new achievements, and our forum will contribute to the treasure trove of good deeds and projects dedicated to this wonderful event."
The forum was attended by Ambassador of Indonesia to Russia and concurrently to Belarus José Antonio Morato Tavares, representatives of Indonesian authorities and regions, heads of export/import companies and representatives of Belarusian and Indonesian businesses interested in developing and establishing mutually beneficial ties.
