Deputy prime minister of Belarus to visit Vietnam on 26-30 March

MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko will visit Vietnam on 26-30 March, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.

Vladimir Semashko is expected to meet with Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The Belarusian delegation will also meet with the heads of the administrations of Hung Yen Province and Hanoi.

The deputy prime minister of Belarus is expected to hold negotiations with the management of a number of companies such as Mekong Machinery, Vinacomin, Transerco, Nikken Sekkei Civil Engineering, and Au Viet Industry.

A visit to the truck assembly joint venture MAZ Asia is part of the itinerary.

Vietnam is a traditional trade partner of Belarus in the Asian region. The countries intend to raise the bilateral trade to $500 million in 2019.

Belarus’ exports to Vietnam include potash fertilizers, truck assembly kits, haul trucks, tires, tractors, bearings, engines, polyamides, metal products, medications, and foods. In return, Belarus imports communication systems, computer and office equipment, fish, sea food, rice, nuts, footwear, apparel, natural rubber, processed tropical fruits, tea, coffee, and spices.

Belarus and Vietnam have established a solid legal base of cooperation, with over 75 interstate, intergovernmental, and interagency agreements signed.
