Defense ministries of Belarus, Russia hold joint meeting

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) - The joint collegium of the Defense Ministries of Belarus and Russia has convened for a meeting, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

The meeting is chaired by Belarus’ Defense Minister Major General Viktor Khrenin. The event is held via a video link.

In Belarus the meeting is hosted by the Strategic Management Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and is attended by State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota, representatives of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Union Stat Standing Committee, the Russian attache office and experts of the Defense Ministry.

The collegium has been set up to organize practical work to strengthen the joint military capabilities necessary to counter military challenges and threats against the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
