Culture Ministries of Belarus, Moldova to intensify cooperation

CHISINAU, 1 October (BelTA) – The Culture Ministries of Belarus and Moldova have agreed to intensify cooperation. The relevant agreement was reached at the meeting between Belarus’ Culture Minister Boris Svetlov and Deputy Culture Minister of Moldova George Postiga in Chisinau, BelTA informs.

According to Boris Svetlov, the current Days of Belarusian Culture in Moldova are a good reason to intensify bilateral relations. The Belarusian minister put forward an idea for a mutual organization of the Year of Culture.

The parties discussed issues related to the organization of mutual cultural exchanges, including exhibitions, student and academic exchanges, restoration and preservation of monuments, theater and other activities.

George Postiga invited theaters, creative companies and artists from Belarus to take an active part in international festivals organized in Moldova, including the international music festival Martisor, the international opera and ballet festival Maria Biesu Invites, and the festival of documentary filming Chronograph.

Boris Svetlov is paying a visit to Moldova as part of the Days of Belarusian Culture on 30 September-2 October. The program includes a number of events aimed at promoting Belarus’ national traditions and customs and intensifying cultural cooperation between the two countries.
