Compromise wordings in EAEU integration strategy discussed

MOSCOW, 20 July (BelTA) – The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission discussed the refinement of strategic directions of advancement of Eurasian economic integration till 2025 on 20 July, the commission’s press service told BelTA. Deputy prime ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union member states sit on the Council.

Previously the EAEU heads of state approved the draft document as a whole and instructed the governments of the member states to finalize the strategy by the next session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission focused on the matters identified by the heads of state and discussed compromise wordings. Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Glazyev said the commission had already started preparing a plan of measures to implement the provisions the sides agree on.

The strategic directions contain general (conceptual) provisions and 330 measures and mechanisms, which are grouped into 11 systemic blocs and build upon provisions of the declaration on further advancement of integration processes in the Eurasian Economic Union.
