CIS Interior Ministers Council to meet in Minsk on 2 September

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – The CIS Interior Ministers Council will sit in Minsk on 2 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The Council will discuss priority areas in cooperation between the CIS Interior Ministries and consider the progress made in the implementation of interstate crime prevention programs.

The members of the Council will highlight draft documents on cooperation in cybercrime prevention in the CIS, outline measures to improve collaboration between law enforcement agencies in preventing autotheft, confirm regulations on the functioning of a specialized databank of the bureau for combating organized crime and other dangerous types of crime.

The Council will also discuss information exchange between law enforcement agencies in preventing unlawful acts of sport fans (including during international mass sport and entertainment events), cooperation in counteracting trafficking in new psychotropic substances, drugs and other potentially dangerous chemical agents.

The members of the Council are set to meet with Belarus’ Premier Andrei Kobyakov and hold a number of bilateral meetings, the press service said.
