China’s CAMCE to help Minsk Oblast to build large healthcare facilities

MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) - The Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) signed a memorandum to build large healthcare facilities in Minsk Oblast in a ceremony on 7 July, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by Minsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Turchin and CAMCE Vice President Li Haixin.

“The cooperation between Minsk Oblast and the People's Republic of China has never stopped, always moving forward. We have known Mr Li Haixin for a long time. We appreciate him coming to Minsk, despite the epidemiological situation. Just a day ago we met to discuss the supply of meat and dairy products, construction of large healthcare facilities in Minsk Oblast. We reached some agreements. The Chinese company has a great experience in these areas. So do we. This cooperation will make us stronger," Governor Aleksandr Turchin said.

The memorandum provides for the construction of an infectious hospital in Borisov and a surgical unit in the regional hospital, export-import in agricultural products, the construction of a baby food factory and  garbage treatment facilities, the governor noted.

Mr Li Haixin noted that these projects will help both sides to prove themselves, expand opportunities, develop mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) is an incorporated company affiliated to China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH). It was established in May 2001. CAMCE’s business mainly consists of engineering procurement construction (EPC) projects, domestic and overseas investment and trade. CAMCE owns stakes in Beijing Woteer Water Technology Co., Ltd.,  Canadian mining company Procon, and invests in administrative and residential development in Laos.

CAMCE operates a subsidiary CAMCE Resources LLC that trades in agricultural and pulp products, steel and chemical goods.

In Belarus, CAMCE owns a stake in the Industrial Park Development Company. The company also acted as a general contractor for a project to build a bleached sulphate pulp plant at Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill and a general contractor for the facilities of the industrial park: engineering and transport infrastructure, administrative building, a plant for the resident company Zoomlion Bel-Rus and a plant for MAZ Weichai.
