China supplies free vehicles, spare parts to Belarusian army

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – The People’s Republic of China supplied automobiles, individual spare parts and sets of spare parts for vehicles to the Belarusian army on 28 March, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

The vehicles were supplied as part of the implementation of the agreements on gratuitous military aid that the Belarusian and Chinese defense ministries signed on 17 May 2013 and 15 April 2014, explained the source.

Since 1995 the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Chinese Defense Ministry have signed 15 agreements on providing gratuitous aid to Belarus. In the period the Belarusian army received free military aid in the form of automobiles and spare parts for automobiles, office machines and equipment, equipment for linguistic classrooms, medical equipment, spare parts and expendable supplies for the medical equipment.

Belarusian Defense Minister, Major-General Andrei Ravkov met with Ambassador of China to Belarus Cui Qiming on 7 April. During the meeting the documents on providing gratuitous military aid from China to Belarus were to be signed.
