China, Belarus urged to focus on implementation of agreements reached at highest level

MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – The most important task for China and Belarus is to implement the agreements reached at the highest level, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus Cui Qiming said when speaking at the roundtable to discuss the 70th anniversary of Victory in World War II and the 70th anniversary of the United Nations at the House of Friendship on 17 June, BelTA has learned.

"The deepening of all-round bilateral relations and implementing the agreements reached during China President Xi Jinping’s visit to Belarus is the most important task," the diplomat said. In his opinion, currently the relations between the two countries "are at a stage of their best development. "For 23 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Belarus the bilateral contacts have been developing at a good pace," said Cui Qiming. In 2013 the two heads of state jointly announced the raising of the bilateral relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership. In 2014, the two states developed a five-year program for the development of bilateral relations, established an intergovernmental committee on cooperation. The political mutual trust is strengthening, mutual support is growing stronger, the cooperation is developing rapidly in many areas.

Successful interaction allows asserting that China and Belarus are true friends and reliable partners. Cui Qiming emphasized that the state visit of China President Xi Jinping to Belarus in May this year has a special significance for the Sino-Belarusian strategic partnership and opens a new era in the development of the Belarusian-Chinese relations.

The Chinese Ambassador quoted the opinion of the PRC President that the advances in the development of bilateral ties have been made possible thanks to the mutual strategic and long-term interests. The starting point and the ultimate goal of all cooperation projects is the desire to strengthen the Sino-Belarus friendship, stressed Cui Qiming.
