CEC validates election of new delegates to Belarusian People’s Congress

MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) - The Central Election Commission, at its session on 15 December, validated the results of the election of delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress  from the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, a civil society entity, to replace those who stepped down, and has registered two new delegates, BelTA has learned.

At the 11th Extraordinary Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) held in Minsk on 12 December, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, Roman Golovchenko and Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi were elected delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress from the FTUB, replacing those who had stepped down. The congress unanimously supported these candidates.

As it was noted during the CEC session, the election of delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress from the FTUB was conducted in accordance with the Electoral Code and the organization's charter.

The documents submitted to the CEC confirm that the nominations meet the requirements set by the Electoral Code for candidates for delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress from civil society.

Thus, the nomination of candidates for delegates and the election of delegates were completed within the timeframe established by the calendar plan. No violations of legislation were identified.

The Central Election Commission unanimously supported the resolution “On validating the results of the election and registering delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress from the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, a civil society entity, in place of those who stepped down”.

As it has been reported, Roman Golovchenko was nominated as a delegate by the Minsk City Trade Union Association, and Dmitry Krutoi - by the Mogilev Regional Trade Union Association. They are both members of the Belarusian Trade Union of State and Other Institutions' Employees.
