Businesses of Belarus, UAE target high-value-added projects

MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) - Business circles in Belarus and the UAE are interested in implementing high-value-added projects, Director of the National Export Promotion Center Nikolai Borisevich told the media following the Belarus-UAE business roundtable held as part of the Belagro 2026 exhibition, BelTA has learned.

Nikolai Borisevich noted that the Belarus-UAE roundtable is another meeting organized by the National Export Promotion Center to provide businesses with additional opportunities to work in foreign markets.

“We have focused as much as possible on practicality and establishing direct contacts. The Emirati delegation is very representative, and on our side we have participants whose interests and sectors of activity fully align with the requests of our partners from the UAE. There is certainly mutual interest. For us, the UAE is a well-known market; we have been working there for a long time and have built up serious expertise. However, nothing is ever exhaustive or final, and today’s contacts have confirmed that,” he emphasized.

According to the director, there is significant interest from banking circles. “Transport, logistics, joint production projects - in other words, high-value-added projects rather than simple buying and selling of goods - are being actively discussed. Pharmaceuticals are drawing strong interest as well. Major business figures from this sector were present at the meeting, alongside our enterprises ready to offer their competencies and opportunities for cooperation,” Nikolai Borisevich said.

Healthcare and tourism are also in focus, specifically organizing health trips and medical treatment for foreign citizens, particularly Emirati citizens, in Belarus. “It is important to understand that we should view the UAE not only as a standalone sales market but also as a gateway to other countries in the region, the Middle East, and Africa. This topic was also actively addressed today,” he said. “This is an extremely promising direction, and we are actively working in it. Any agreements reached as a result of today’s meetings are, among other things, aimed at achieving this overarching goal.”
