MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov will be in Belarus on a working visit on 10-12 April, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As part of the visit top officials of the Belarusian and Bulgarian ministries of foreign affairs will meet to discuss the state and prospects of the entire range of bilateral cooperation as well as interaction of the two countries in international organizations. Taking into account Bulgaria’s presidency in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe this year, close attention will be paid to Belarus’ relations with this regional organization.
Apart from that, the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to meet with top officials of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus and will visit the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk.
Belarus-Bulgaria diplomatic relations were established on 26 March 1992. In 2015 Belarus-Bulgaria trade rose to $126.8 million, with Belarus’ export up to $92.1 million. For the first time in more than ten years Belarus secured a foreign trade surplus.
