BSU, Universitas Airlangga sign memorandum of understanding

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – The memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Belarusian State University (BSU) and Universitas Airlangga (Indonesia), BelTA learned from the press service of the university.

The document was signed by Rector of the Belarusian State University Andrei Korol and Rector of Universitas Airlangga Mohammad Nasih during an official online meeting.

The memorandum envisages academic exchanges, joint educational and research projects, consultations, conferences, seminars, symposiums, exchange of scientific and methodological materials. The first step in the implementation of the official agreements will be the participation of BSU teachers in the educational program DECOTA. Its objective is to invite international academics to deliver online lectures to the students of Universitas Airlangga.

Students of the Belarusian State University are also invited to take a course under the online Sura-Bali Community Immersion Program 2020 from 16 to 27 November. The program offers knowledge of Indonesian culture and tourism activities in East Java and Bali. The program is developed by Universitas Airlangga in cooperation with Petra Christian University and Udayana University.

Before, the Belarusian State University cooperated with Indonesia only under the contract between Unitechprom BSU and Global Systech Medika (Jakarta) for the supply of spirometers.

Universitas Airlangga is one of Indonesia’s oldest universities founded in 1954. It is located in Surabaya. The university hosts 14 faculties: Medicine, Law, Economics and Business, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Social and Political Science, Science and Technology, Psychology, Public Health, Humanities, Fisheries and Marine, Nursing, Vocations, and also Postgraduate School. The university employs over 2,000 personnel. The number of students nears 39,000. Consistently ranked highly in major world university rankings, Universitas Airlangga have long been considered as one of the "Big 5" university in Indonesia. The university maintains partner relations with more than 130 foreign universities.
