BSPC delegation to visit Belarus in April

MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – A delegation of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC) will visit Belarus on 12-14 April, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko told media on 28 March, BelTA has learned.

According to the Speaker, the Belarusian side “is currently working on receiving the corresponding status in this international parliamentary organization.”

Vladimir Andreichenko named the development of cooperation with the parliaments of the European states, cooperation with the OSCE PA and the European parliament as a promising area of the activity for the National Assembly.

Special attention will be still attached to cooperation with Russian counterparts. In June Minsk is expected to host an anniversary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State to take stock of the MPs’ work over the past 20 years.

Vladimir Andreichenko stressed that with developing inter-parliamentary cooperation the National Assembly of Belarus is aimed at achieving concrete results, including in the economic sector.
