MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – A delegation of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC) led by BSPC President Janis Vucans will visit Belarus on 12-14 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
The delegation will meet with members of the House of Representatives of Belarus and the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program of the visit also includes meetings with Belarusian MPs who are members of permanent commissions of the Belarusian parliament, representatives of the Energy Ministry, the Education Ministry, the Healthcare Ministry, the Sports and Tourism Ministry, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
The BSPC delegation will pay a visit to the multi-purpose sports and entertainment center Minsk Arena and the National Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology.
The Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference was established in 1991 as a forum for political dialogue between MPs from the Baltic Sea Region. It aims to improve dialogue between governments, parliaments and civil society, strengthen the common identity of the Baltic Sea Region by means of close cooperation between national and regional parliaments on the basis of equality, and initiate and guide political activities in the Baltic Sea Region. Germany, Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, and five interparliamentary organizations, including the Baltic Assembly, the European Parliament, PACE, OSCE PA, and the Nordic Council, are members of BSPC. As many as 27 organizations have observer status.
