Bills on IT, entrepreneurship development in Belarusian parliament soon

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – A number of bills designed to encourage the development of information technologies and entrepreneurship will be brought in to the parliament soon, BelTA learned from Boleslav Pirshtuk, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, on 29 March.

A session of the council of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament took place on 29 March. Participants of the session discussed the draft agenda of the Belarusian parliament’s spring session, which is due to open on 2 April. As many as 22 bills are supposed to be on the agenda. “A number of bills developed on top of the documents the head of state has signed to take care of information technologies and entrepreneurship will be brought in to the House of Representatives,” said Boleslav Pirshtuk. The MP stressed that the bills would be submitted for consideration of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament as soon as possible.

The MP continued: “It is necessary to pay close attention to the development of the next year’s central state budget and integral changes of the Tax Code. Parliamentarians already take an active part in the ongoing correction of tax legislation as part of an interagency working group. Work on the central state budget bill will begin soon.” Boleslav Pirshtuk reminded about the head of state’s requirements for these documents: the central state budget has to have no deficit, it has to be socially and innovation-oriented, and it cannot increase the tax burden. As for the taxation system, it should become modern, simple, and understandable for commercial entities. “It is necessary to work on the relevant bills taking into account these approaches while submitting reasonable proposals based on life situations,” noted the MP.

Belarusian MPs will have to work hard on the new revision of the Housing Code. They will have to introduce complex amendments to the Labor Code. A new revision of the Education Code will be brought in to the parliament soon. “These documents affect interests and rights of virtually every citizen. They should be discussed bearing in mind needs of the people. They should implement the constitutional rights of citizens, maintain a balance of interests of voters, the society, and the state,” said the deputy chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

Among the items the spring session of the Belarusian parliament will deal with Boleslav Pirshtuk mentioned bills on public private partnership, on government purchasing, transportation and forwarding business, and other things. Apart from that, the lower chamber will take note of the Entrepreneurship Development Ordinance and the Population Employment Assistance Ordinance.
