Belmedpreparaty to start making coronavirus vaccine out of intermediate product within days

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian pharmaceutical company Belmedpreparaty will begin making a coronavirus vaccine out of an intermediate product within the next few days. Director General of the managing company of the holding company Belpharmprom Sergei Kazakevich made the statement at a session of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry board on 24 February, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Kazakevich reminded that upon instructions of the head of state and the head of government the managing company continues working to localize the production of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V in Belarus.

In his words, Belmedpreparaty will start making the vaccine within days. Validation series of the vaccine are supposed to be bottled by the end of the week.

Apart from that, work continues with a Russian company on starting vaccine production using the full manufacturing cycle.
