Belavia resumes flights to Russia’s Samara

Belavia resumes flights to Russia’s Samara

MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian air carrier Belavia resumed flights from Minsk to Russia’s Samara on 12 May, BelTA has learned from the press service of the carrier.

"Samara has become the ninth regular destination for Belavia in Russia. Flights will be performed on Wednesdays with departure from Minsk at 00.15 and arrival at Kurumoch International Airport at 3.25. Return flights to the capital of Belarus will be performed on the same day at 4.25 with arrival at Minsk National Airport at 5.55. The time for all airports is local," the company said.

The minimum Light fare is €84 one way and €163 round-trip.

Belavia will use an Embraer 175 for 76 seats: 12 business class and 64 economy class. Travel time will be just over two hours.

"We can say that after a difficult year of 2020, aviation is slowly picking up momentum. Last year our passengers had the opportunity to fly to Vienna and Tashkent, in February 2021 to Dubai. We are set to develop the route network in 2021 too. Samara became the second destination after Yekaterinburg with which we re-connected this spring. This is a city with a fascinating aviation history: it produced passenger planes Tu-154, which Belavia operated for a long time. We expect that the opening of flights to Samara will help attract transit passengers to Minsk," said Igor Cherginets, Director General of the Belarusian airline.

"Air communication between Minsk and Samara is extremely important for us, taking into account economic and cultural ties at both the federal and regional levels. Samara Oblast is a great place for tourism, especially in summer. I am sure that even the most experienced travelers will love a travel down the Volga River and this destination in our route network will give an additional impetus to the development of tourism in the region," said Mikhail Berman, Executive Director of Kurumoch International Airport.
