Belarusian university to train technical specialists for China’s Guangdong Province

MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – A ceremony to sign a memorandum on implementing a joint education project between the Belarusian State Technological University, the Yunfu Technology College, and the Guangdong Union for International Scientific and Technical Cooperation with CIS States will take place on 22 July in an online format, representatives of the Belarusian State Technological University told BelTA.

Rector of the Belarusian State Technological University Igor Voitov will sign the document on behalf of the Belarusian side. The memorandum’s goal is to provide assistance to the Belarusian side for the sake of intensive development of technical education in Yunfu, training of highly qualified technical specialists for Guangdong Province and for the main branches of Yunfu’s manufacturing sector as part of implementation of China’s national strategy Belt and Road.

In order to implement the joint project, the sides will use the resources at their disposal, the personnel potential, and cooperation models. Depending on needs of industrial transformation and modernization of Guangdong Province, an integrated education environment will be created for the sake of practice-oriented training of technical specialists as part of the Guangdong Technicians program.

Cooperation with universities, research centers, and organizations of the People’s Republic of China is a priority direction in international activities of the Belarusian State Technological University. The number of the university’s partners grows higher every year thanks to the dynamic advancement of Belarus-China relations. So far 31 agreements on cooperation have been signed with universities and organizations of the People’s Republic of China. The universities and organizations are located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, Shandong Province, Liaoning Province, Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Over 40 visits of Chinese delegations to Belarus and Belarusian delegations to China have been organized over the last three years. As a result of the visits the Belarusian State Technological University has established partnerships with a number of Chinese educational institutions.
