Belarusian senators ratify Belarus-Greece road transport agreement
MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) - Belarusian senators approved the international road transport agreement between the governments of Belarus and Greece, BelTA has learned.
Belarus’ Minister of Transport and Communications Anatoly Sivak noted that the document was signed in Athens in December 2013 and aimed at resolving the issues related to the international road transport of passengers and cargo between Belarus and Greece, and also in transit through their territories.
Members of the Council of the Republic also endorsed the ratification of the document amending the agreement between the Governments of Belarus and the Swiss Federal Council on international road passenger and freight transport as of 18 December 2000. The document was signed in Geneva in February this year. The amendments provide for the liberalization of the terms for Belarusian and Swiss road transport carriers in the territory of the states parties. For example, there will be no need to obtain permits for road transport between the two countries.
In addition, members of the Council of the Republic approved the ratification of the protocol to terminate the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on the transit of goods moved between the customs authorities of the two countries as of 29 June 2007.
