“The 25th session of the OSCE PA is a major interparliamentary event that Belarusian MPs will take part in. This year, the session will take place in Tbilisi,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

He noted that the Belarusian parliament will welcome delegations from other countries, including Bulgaria and Romania, in the near future. A delegation of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference is also expected to visit Belarus in April. “This will be a great opportunity for boosting cooperation with this international organization and discussing the possibility of granting the observer status to Belarus,” Vladimir Andreichenko believes. He noted MPs of the previous convocation started working on the matter, but the work was not completed.

“It is very important for us to maintain bilateral contacts. In this regard, we have developed mechanisms for cooperation with Southeast Asian countries,” Vladimir Andreichenko emphasized. He also stressed the importance of bolstering cooperation with Europe.

“In June, Minsk will play host to the 50th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State. This is not an ordinary event, and we should organize it properly,” Vladimir Andreichenko pointed out.

The next election to the House of Representatives will be held in Belarus not later than on 11 September 2016. Vladimir Andreichenko added that the MPs should take an active part in the organization of the election campaign, meet with voters, and provide additional help to regional authorities with addressing local problems.

Vladimir Andreichenko said that the agenda for the spring session is heavy. It will be adjusted depending on the tasks to be set by the head of state in his address to the Belarusian people and parliament.
