MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs discussed the geopolitical situation in the region with a delegation of the Network Foreign Policy of the Korber Foundation on 31 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on International Affairs Valery Voronetsky and Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security Valentin Mikhnevich discussed with the members of the Network Foreign Policy the state and prospects of Belarus-EU cooperation. “Particular attention was paid to discussing current challenges and threats to the region. Belarusian MPs called for strengthening confidence and security in Europe, improving relations between Russia and the EU, pragmatizing cooperation and filling it with concrete mutually beneficial projects in the interests of consolidating, enhancing the competitiveness and security of a Greater Europe without dividing lines,” the press service said.

The meeting was held on the initiative of the foundation during the working visit of its delegation to Belarus. The delegation comprised officials of the Office of the Federal President and the Federal Chancellor of Germany, the Bundestag Administration, a number of federal ministries, including the Federal Ministry of Defense and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Germany, representatives of analytical structures, and also the embassies of the United States and France in Berlin.
