Belarusian foreign minister to take part in UN General Assembly session

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei will take part in a meeting of ministers of foreign affairs in support of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). The meeting will take place as part of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, USA, the Ministry’s press service told BelTA.

Vladimir Makei will also take part in a high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on migrants and refugees, a high-level event focusing on fulfilling water-related sustainable development goals, and a ministerial meeting of the Middle-Income Countries Support Group. Vladimir Makei will also partake in the high-level event on resolving crises by bolstering the OSCE’s capabilities as an organization under Chapter VIII of the UN Charter.

Apart from that, the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with a number of UN officials and heads of the delegations of UN member states.
