Belarusian FM unveils preparations for president's foreign visits

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) - Belarus is focused on building cooperation with Africa and Asia, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov told the media, BelTA has learned.

“You are aware of the president's clear directive and our current focus on branching out into Asia and significantly deepening engagement with Africa, seizing every opportunity to promote our goods, advance investment projects, and implement joint initiatives in creating products or getting them into new markets. This explains why the majority of my meetings [on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York] were with my counterparts from African and Asian countries. Regarding the practical outcomes of these meetings, specific arrangements for the president's visits to a number of countries were discussed,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said.

The minister did not disclose details, emphasizing that preparations for such events require discretion. “However, we have thoroughly worked through a broad range of issues with several countries regarding visits by the head of state,” he added.

Issues regarding the supply of Belarusian machinery and assistance in agricultural mechanization were also discussed with foreign partners. “Primarily, this concerns Africa. This includes Togo, Ghana, Botswana, and Ethiopia, where such projects are already in their home stretch. The final details regarding when and how these projects will be implemented were finalized," Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized.
