Belarusian FM shares his experience of vacationing in DPRK

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov shared his impressions of the holiday in the DPRK as he talked to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“It’s always great to have a vacation. A good, friendly atmosphere is one of the ingredients of success. In fact, the country is very colorful, traditional, and interesting,” Maxim Ryzhenkov noted.

According to him, it was interesting to visit not only the capital of the DPRK, Pyongyang, but also other regions. For example, the famous resort on the Kalma Peninsula in the port city of Wonsan, which was built primarily for local residents. “Along the way – waterfalls, small villages. Everything is tidy, well-maintained, and functioning,” the minister shared his impressions.

He also noted noticeable changes in the everyday life of the DPRK and the development of urban infrastructure: “You look around and see that there are traffic jams here and there on the streets because there are already quite a lot of cars. More than before.”

But even during his vacation, the head of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking the opportunity, was handling work matters. “As the president says, even while on vacation, a civil servant must work. I had a meeting with the minister of foreign affairs of the DPRK. Together we discussed the entire range of bilateral relations, including the upcoming contacts through the foreign ministries and the signing of a number of agreements, including this important agreement on visa-free travel for citizens,” the Belarusian top diplomat said.

Belarus, DPRK to sign visa-free travel agreement soon

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) - Belarus and the DPRK are preparing to sign a bilateral agreement on visa-free travel for citizens, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to Maxim Ryzhenkov, the corresponding bilateral agreement has been drafted, and only some technical details remain to be settled.

“We will sign it in the very near future. I had a meeting with the minister of foreign affairs of the DPRK. Together we discussed the entire range of bilateral relations, including the upcoming contacts through the foreign ministries and the signing of a number of agreements, including this important agreement on visa-free travel for citizens,” the Belarusian top diplomat said.
