MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian delegation has brought a painting to St. Petersburg as a gift for Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports citing Natalya Eismont, Press Secretary of the President of Belarus.
She had previously said that the Belarusian president would present his Russian counterpart with a painting of Valaam landscapes as a birthday gift.
“We have brought what we promised during the previous meeting. We had been looking forward to this visit to the Russian Federation, to Russia’s northern capital, to present this large-scale and beautiful painting reflecting a Belarusian spirit and created especially for the president of Russia,” Natalya Eismont said on Channel One.
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is on a working trip to Russia on 21-22 December to participate in the EAEU summit and an informal meeting of CIS heads of state.
