MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Austria, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the International Organizations in Vienna Alena Kupchyna presented her credentials to Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) LI Yong and Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Lassina Zerbo.

During the meeting with the UNIDO Director General the parties discussed the implementation of technical cooperation projects in Belarus and the prospects of further cooperation on the matters connected with middle-income countries.

During the meeting with the CTBTO Executive Secretary Alena Kupchyna noted that Belarus consistently supports the implementation of the entry into force and universalization of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The Permanent Representative of Belarus stressed the importance of preserving and strengthening the international nuclear non-proliferation regime based on the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and the importance of enabling conditions for taking concrete steps leading to nuclear disarmament.
