Belarus, Zimbabwe gear up for joint cooperation commission meeting

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – On 15 September Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe Sheillah Chikomo, who is in Minsk on a working visit, BelTA learned from the Belarusian ministry of foreign affairs.

The parties took stock of the second round of ministerial consultations between Belarus and Zimbabwe held the previous day. They discussed in detail key issues of implementing major joint projects in industry, agriculture, education and healthcare, as set out in the roadmap for strategic cooperation and partnership for 2026-2030.

An algorithm was determined for preparations for the second meeting of the joint standing commission on cooperation, which is planned to be held in Minsk in 2026. The parties also reached an agreement to continue coordinating interaction within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement and BRICS+.

The parties hailed the state of Belarusian-Zimbabwean relations and stressed the strategic character of the Minsk-Harare partnership.
