Belarus, Vietnam draw up 2026 defense cooperation plan

MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) – The defense agencies of Belarus and Vietnam have discussed a draft cooperation plan for 2026, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

First Deputy Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Belarusian Defense Ministry Aleksandr Vengura and the leadership of the international cooperation agency of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry held a detailed review of the progress in implementing 2025 joint activities. Consideration was also given to the draft plan for bilateral military cooperation in 2026. The parties expressed interest in strengthening interaction.

As was reported, during the visit to Vietnam the Belarusian delegation is holding a number of meetings to discuss the international agenda and cooperation development. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces – Belarusian First Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Muraveiko held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart General Nguyen Tan Cuong. “The parties detailed their military cooperation in areas of mutual interest, stressing the need to elevate their interaction to a qualitatively new level: a strategic partnership,” the Belarusian defense ministry said.
