Belarus, USA discuss prospects of normalization of bilateral relations

MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Prospects of normalization and development of the Belarus-U.S. relations were discussed in a meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and representatives of the U.S. Department of State, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei is in New York for the 70th session of the UN General Assembly Summit as part of the Belarusian delegation headed by Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko.

On the second day of the visit, on 28 September 2015, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs held meetings and talks with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Czech Republic. “The ministers discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the ways of developing trade and economic relations, and exchanged their views on the current issues of international politics,” informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vladimir Makei and Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn continued the discussion started a day earlier with Federica Mogherini on the possibilities of developing the relations between Belarus and the EU and its member states.
