Belarus, Ukraine agree on direct delivery of humanitarian aid

MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Belarus and Ukraine have agreed on direct delivery of humanitarian aid, without mediators, Belarus’ Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko told the media on 22 July, BelTA has learned.

When asked about the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Ukraine, the minister said that the presidents of Belarus and Ukraine discussed humanitarian assistance. “An agreement was reached to deliver humanitarian assistance directly, without intermediaries. Ukraine will create all conditions so that we cross the border unimpeded. All corridors will be opened so that assistance is delivered directly to the people who need this,” Vladimir Vashchenko said.

As it was reported, in June the Belarusian humanitarian aid worth more than Br117,000 was delivered by the transport of the Emergencies Ministry to Ukraine and handed over to the International Red Cross mission in that country. Representatives of the Red Cross delivered the goods to the point of destination.
