Belarus, UK discuss cooperation in law enforcement
MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ Interior Minister Igor Shunevich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Fionna Gibb. The meeting took place at the Interior Ministry of Belarus on 1 February, BelTA has learned.
The minister expressed readiness to expand cooperation between the Interior Ministry and the UK police in various law enforcement matters.
“Belarus is especially interested in the UK experience in securing safety during mass sporting events, identifying detained illegal migrants. The analysis of migration risks and the use of information resources in migration-related matters are also of interest to Belarus. In turn, Belarus is ready to share its crime prevention practices,” representatives of the Interior Ministry said.
