Belarus, Uganda look forward to promising military and technical cooperation

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Uganda are planning to outline the promising avenues of mutually beneficial cooperation in the military and technical sector, Vladimir Lavrenyuk, official representative of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee, told BelTA following the visit of the Ugandan delegation to Minsk. The delegation was headed by General David Muhoozi, the Chief of Defense Forces of the the Uganda People's Defence Forces.

Chairman of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee Roman Golovchenko held talks with the head of the Ugandan delegation. The talks were held in the warm and friendly atmosphere. The parties reviewed Belarus-Uganda cooperation in the military-technical area. Roman Golovchenko noted that the distinguished guest’s visit to Belarus could be viewed as an opportunity to outline the promising areas of mutually beneficial military and technical cooperation.

The parties confirmed the commitment to further strengthen the friendly relations and expressed their confidence that through the common efforts the bilateral military and technical ties and cooperation will be further developed based on the existing capacity.

The delegation visited a number of enterprises that are part of the defense sector and the State Military Industrial Committee system. They got familiar with the scientific and production potential of the companies, the capacities to produce goods and services for military use.
