Belarus, UAE to discuss cooperation in customs

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Heads of the customs bodies of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates will consider ways to expand the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.

The delegation of the UAE Federal Customs Authority arrived in Belarus on an official visit on 28 August. The heads of the customs agencies of the two countries are set to discuss bilateral cooperation on 29 August. “A bilateral meeting will focus on the expansion of the legal framework for cooperation. The guests will also get familiar with the work of the Belarusian customs, visit the agency’s institute, and learn about the work of the Belarusian customs laboratory. Special attention will be on discussing advantages for the authorized economic operators and free economic zones in view of the new Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union,” the State Customs Committee said.

The visit of the delegation of the UAE Federal Customs Authority to Belarus will last through to 30 August.
