Belarus, UAE confirm interest in advancing military technology cooperation

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Belarus and the United Arab Emirates have confirmed their interest in advancing bilateral mutually beneficial military technology cooperation across a broad spectrum, BelTA has learned.

A Belarusian delegation went to Russia for the military technology forum Army 2021. On the second day of the forum Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus met with UAE Deputy Defense Minister for Support and Defense Industries Al Jabri Mubarak Saeed. The sides discussed the execution of current contracts and cooperation prospects. Interest in mutually beneficial cooperation was noted.

On 22 August Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus met with AO Kronshtadt Director General Sergei Bogatikov. The sides informed each other about capabilities of enterprises in the sphere of creation of unmanned aerial vehicles, discussed promising projects in this sphere, and mentioned interest in advancing mutually beneficial cooperation. An agreement on cooperation between an organization of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus and AO Kronshtadt was signed.

The Russian company AO Kronshtadt specializes in designing flying drones capable of penetrating air defense systems on their own. The drones are supposed to be able to automatically analyze the battlefield situation and make the necessary decisions. Russian drones are on par with foreign competitors, including Chinese and Israeli ones.
