Belarus, Turkmenistan to step up interparliamentary ties

ASHGABAT, 26 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Turkmenistan will enhance interparliamentary ties. The statement was made at the meeting of Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich with Chairperson of the Assembly of Turkmenistan Akja Nuberdiyeva in Ashgabat on 26 March, BelTA has learned.

Participants of the meeting spoke about the activities of the parliaments of Belarus and Turkmenistan and discussed what legal acts should be passed to promote trade and economic cooperation, expand humanitarian contacts. A decision was made to step up the work of the two parliamentary commissions.

At the meeting with the chairperson of the Turkmenistan parliament Mikhail Myasnikovich focused on the Belarusian demographic policy, measures to stimulate birth rate, support families with children. He also spoke about the training of specialists for various branches of the economy.

Akja Nuberdiyeva emphasized that young people from Turkmenistan like to study in Belarus where they become excellent specialists in demand in their home country.

The chairman of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament, in turn, noted that Ashgabat will host the fair of Belarusian educational technologies in July 2015.
