Belarus to host international conference on oriental studies

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – On 1 July a two-day international conference on contemporary oriental studies will kick off at Belarusian State University (BSU). The event will take place online and offline, BelTA learned from the press service of the university.

The forum will bring together about 70 experts in oriental studies, scientists and postgraduate students from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and China. These are representatives of BSU, Minsk State Linguistic University, Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Higher School of Economics, Saint Petersburg State University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, National University of Mongolia, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and others.

The conference will discuss the social and political situation in the countries of the East, their cultural diversity, language and literature.

An electronic collection of reports will be published after the conference. The collection will be available in the Electronic Library of BSU.

The organizer of the event is the Department of Oriental Linguistic and Country Studies of the BSU International Relations Faculty.
