Belarus to enable favorable conditions for Eurasian Economic Union Court

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – Belarus will enable the most favorable conditions for the operation of the Eurasian Economic Union Court, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the source, the agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Belarus on terms of the EEU Court’s stay in the country will be signed in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 29 April. The Belarusian side undertakes to enable the most favorable conditions for the Court’s operation and for securing the Court’s high status.

Dmitry Mironchik noted that in line with the agreement Belarus will hand over the building at 5 Kirova Street in Minsk for free for the sake of the Court’s operation. “It confirms the intention of our country to enable the most favorable terms for the court,” added the official.

The agreement lays down the legal foundation for regulating the Court’s stay in Belarus. The signing of the agreement is an important event for developing and perfecting Eurasian integration processes, noted the representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Eurasian Economic Union Court is a permanent court body of the Union. The Court has been established for the sake of ensuring the uniform application of international treaties and other binding international legal documents by the Eurasian Economic Union member states and agencies. EEU member states are encouraged to appeal to the Court if they believe an EEU agency has made a wrongful decision or other EEU member states fail to comply with the international agreements and documents, which are in effect in the integration association. Companies are also encouraged to appeal to the Court if they believe some EEU regulations negatively affect or violate their rights and legal interests.

The Eurasian Economic Union Court has been established in line with the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty of 29 May 2014.
