Belarus to decide on LNR’s, DNR’s recognition soon

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Belarus will make a decision concerning the recognition of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and the Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR) soon, BelTA learned from Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 24 February.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “Putin and I have said we have other things to do today. That’s the first consideration. Second, it is not a problem. Third, we have to clearly understand what will happen as a result of this step. Nevertheless, it is not a problem.”

The head of state reminded that some countries had already stated that DNR’s and LNR’s recognition is not on their agenda. “But this matter is on our agenda and we will make a decision soon. We will do it in a way that will be better both for Russia and Belarus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
