Belarus, Tajikistan mark 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Your country is a close and reliable partner for us. I am pleased to say that during this period we have built a sustainable system of all-round cooperation relying on friendship, openness, trust and respect. Belarus and Tajikistan successfully cooperation in the international format and within the framework of integration structures. The legal framework contributes to the development of contacts at all levels,” the Belarusian head of state stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that this jubilee year and the further dialogue will be highlighted by close productive work on all issues from the interstate agenda, efficient implementation of mutually beneficial projects, new ideas and initiatives in the best interests of the two nations.

Emomali Rahmon has also sent a message of greetings to Aleksandr Lukashenko. “In the past years, Tajikistan-Belarus relations relying on the old traditions of friendship, mutual respect and kindness between our nations were increasingly vibrant. In this period, we have built a solid legal framework of bilateral relations regulating our cooperation in the political, economic, sci-tech, cultural, humanitarian and other fields. Belarus and Tajikistan maintain productive cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations, first of all, in the United Nations Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.”

The Tajikistan president is convinced that Tajikistan and Belarus will continue strengthening strategic partnership by new constructive examples of interstate cooperation in the best interests of the two nations.
